Members of the National forum of political organizations were briefed on election preparations .

 On Thursday, September 24, 2026, the National Electoral Commission held a meeting with members of the National Forum of Political Organizations (NFPO) during their general assembly. 

The Commission briefed them on the upcoming elections for local government leaders and National Councils.

In her address, the Chairperson of the National Electoral Commission, Hon. Oda Gasinzigwa explained, that it is essential to inform political party members about elections, the voting process, the status of preparations, and the role that political party members can play, even if these elections are not based on political party affiliation but they are Rwandans and the elections are for the Rwandan people.

The Chairperson of NEC highlighted that NEC consider them as stakeholders and urged them to be ready to vote 

Participants also had the opportunity to recommend key areas of focus to ensure the elections proceed as successfully as previous ones.

The National Forum of Political Organizations usually deploys election observers during elections.

The elections are scheduled to take place from October 24 to November 30, 2026.
